here are 17 species of bats found in North Carolina. While bats sometimes get a bad rap, they play an in important role in our ecosystem. Some bat species are known to help control insect populations, some disperse seeds aiding in forest regrowth, and others are critical pollinators. Dr. Han Li, Visiting Assistant Professor at UNCG and NABat North Carolina Coordinator, will speak about bat populations around the world and share bat conservation efforts happening here in North Carolina.
