This is an introductory experience into making (forging or smithing) metal jewelry.
You’ll go home with 5 hammered copper rings and an introduction to working with copper using tools and fire.
We will discuss working with copper, learn and practice using Butane and Propane torches to anneal your copper, hammers to texturize them and smooth the edges to finish them for ultimate comfort so that they are ready to wear or gift!
Attendees will take home their rings along with some facts, info and care sheets on working with and caring for copper jewelry as well as a list of resources should they want to continue their practice at home or at Mixxer.
Beginners Welcome!
IMPORTANT: Be sure to wear natural materials (no spandex, nylon, etc.) and long pants that cover your boots or close toed shoes. We’ll provide the rest of the safety gear you’ll need.
