Being committed to social entrepreneurship, we seek out exemplars and mission-driven leaders to fuel our learning and curiosity including, Warby Parker Co-founder and CEO, Dave Gilboa. Warby Parker disrupted the eyewear industry in 2010 and built a socially-conscious global brand whose latest round of funding earlier this year values the company at $1.75 billion.
A key part of Warby Parker’s social mission is to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need and to-date over 4 million pairs of glasses have been distributed through their Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.
In addition to helping expand vision care, Warby Parker’s generosity also reaps rewards in terms of attracting engaged & aligned employees. This is consistent with current trends – check out this Forbes article about the impact of corporate social responsibility for an ever-growing millennial workforce.
