In the words of our founder Sarah Walden Herbin, “who if not us will advocate for our children?”
Black Child Development Institute of Greensboro, Inc. (BCDI-G) utilizes a cadre of volunteers to provide programs that support the success of children through advocacy and education.
Since 1978 we have recruited, screened and trained thousands of volunteers to provide services to over 15,000 elementary, middle and high school students.
Our goal:
1) Increase the number of children who have access to supportive academic services.
2) Increase the number of children who are reading above grade level.
3) Increase the knowledge base and access of parents to community resources.
4) Increase the number of volunteers engaged in service.
