The Nutcracker by the Greensboro Ballet

Our LIVE production of the beloved holiday classic returns to the stage in 2021!
Greensboro Ballet’s sparkling production of The Nutcracker will once again be presented in five live performances at the historic & beautiful Carolina Theatre. Join us in your favorite holiday attire for a magical afternoon or evening with loved ones and/or friends.

The Nutcracker tells the story of young Clara as she and her family celebrate the season with a lively Christmas party. At the party, Clara’s Uncle Drosselmeyer gives her a magnificent Nutcracker which becomes the centerpiece of her dreams. This dream includes a battle between her beloved Nutcracker and the evil Rat Queen and her mice minions! Clara then travels through the lovely and ethereal Land of the Snow to finally arrive at the Nutcracker’s Kingdom of the Sweets. Delicious sweets from around the world entertain Clara with dances and scrumptious treats for her pleasure. As Clara awakens on the couch in her living room hugging her Nutcracker, she wonders if it was a dream after all, or the magical journey of a lifetime.
Our dancers will be wearing face masks, but masks that match their costumes!

Adults: $45 – $30 – $20
Seniors/Children 2-17/College Students & Military: $5 off your ticket
Babies in Arms – $10/child 0-23 months (keep in mind, we do not recommend this performance for this age group)

Did you know that Greensboro has a BIG hunger problem? This year, when you come to Clara’s home to celebrate the holidays with her, we are asking our Nutcracker and Clara’s Nutcracker Suite audiences to bring canned food & other items to donate to some amazing local charities. There will be boxes in the upper lobby area (at Nutcracker) to collect your food donations for these charities.
