But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the mysterious rebel J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place: six feet under. Based on the 1988 film that became a cult hit, the rock musical “Heathers” is a dark comedy following the social politics of late ’80s teens.
