Camellia Sinensis is an evergreen shrub native to Southeast Asia. It’s leaves, when discerningly picked and skillfully dried, produce the second most consumed beverage in the world: tea. Since the plant was first discovered to produce a stimulating beverage over 4500 years ago in China, nations all over the world have developed their own unique tea culture and methods of production. In this class, we will dive deep into the storied history of Camellia Sinensis, learn about the many ways the plant is cultivated and taste different styles of tea.
